This bench features two graft lines, one on the waterfall end and another one on the other end. The graft line is between the native disease and pest resistant black walnut root stock and the lighter colored English walnut top which produces a more desired nut. This tree as seen in an orchard has a thick gnarly base about 2-3 feet in height and then a smaller girth trunk that has a smoother look. The intersection of these is the graft line location. It I quite interesting to see how the two grow together, sometimes in a straight line and sometimes not.
